Today begins the last 100 days of the year and I invite you to join me on a Last 100 Day Challenge! What is one thing you’d love to be better with by the end of the year? What if you started now at the last 100 days instead of waiting for January? I know there are better habits I can develop and I’d love for you to join me in creating your own.
I’m currently reading the book Atomic Habits by James Clear and it got me thinking about my habits. One of the quotes, I love says that the quality of our lives often depends on the quality of our habits. Another says that building better habits in the present allows you to do more of what you want in the future. I love that so much.
I am a spontaneous person and use to run away from someone trying to get me to do the same thing over and over again but here’s what I know about my spontaneity, if you don’t have a clear direction of where you want to go, you could very well end up going where you don’t want to go. So it’s better to have habits that align with the direction you want to go and become that version of yourself by performing little habits everyday that stack up. For me: meditation, workout and eating healthy are priorities every day. Also, since I’m homeschooling my two children myself these days, I prioritize working with them everyday on something reading, writing or math related and then something fun like outdoors, musci, crafts or sports.
I’d love for you to decide what are your habits that you’d like to change. And pick one main thing you’d love to add in or change for the better from now until the rest of the year.
For me, health is a huge priority to me. Health is wealth in my opinion. I’ve been on a years long healing journey and one of the things I’ve finally been getting to now is finally physical health. After years of spiritual reconnection, emotional regulation, mentally overcoming breakdowns and years of physical health going sideways, I’m feeling great for long amazing periods of time! And I want to now feel even better. In the last year, I have been eating an anti-inflammatory diet 80% of the time along with regular exercise 3-5 or more days per week. I did release some weight but haven’t reached my goal yet and stalled out for the last 6 months. I finally realized that when I consistently track my food, I consistently get better results. I might eat all the anti-inflammatory foods, but if I’m still eating way more than my body needs, it’s still too many calories. Tracking food is not for people who have obsessive tendencies but for me it works. So I have decided that my goal is to track my food and fitness everyday into a tracking app from now until the end of the year and beyond.
This makes me happy and its fun. It makes it a game for me. This is also part of the challenge. The habit you pick would be best if it was also something fun that you are excited to do. I would love to hear what habit you are changing and if you want to join me in the Last 100 Day challenge to change for the better! Lets go!
